Associate Pastor
Southminster Presbyterian Church, Vestavia, AL
August 2013 – present
- Responsible for spiritual development, nurture, and care along with senior pastor, church staff, and elders, for 300+ member church.
- Worked collaboratively with church’s elders in development, coordination, and implementation of education programs for all ages, including development and oversight of budget for these ministries.
- Organized and moderated a team of volunteers to develop new website for the church, www.southminsterpcusa.org
- Led and planned worship regularly with senior pastor, preaching on average of once per month
- Served as liaison for other ministries in church, particularly Outreach, lending vision, support and ideas for mission and service in Vestavia community and beyond.
- As member of the Presbytery (my denomination’s name for the local governing body) served on variety of committees with responsibilities to oversee ministry throughout central Alabama.
- Moderated meetings of church elders, both at Southminster and in other churches as a fill-in for other pastors.
Associate Pastor
First Presbyterian Church, Concord, NC
June 2005 – July 2013
- Served as Associate Pastor of approximately 1000 member church in Concord, NC, part of the Charlotte, NC metro-area.
- Responsible primarily for ministries with Youth and Young Adult Ministry, including weekly fellowship gatherings, bible studies, mission projects, and other initiatives, including budget.
- Resourced other groups as needed, including Deacons, Health and Wholeness Group, and Church Wide Retreat Planning Team.
- Participated weekly in worship, preaching on average 7 times a year.
